The Caminoist – Who Are We?

The Caminoist began with a walk I never planned.

As a former diplomat and international aid worker, I spent much of my adult life traveling and working in some of the most challenging countries in the world. In 2012, I joined a longtime friend for a portion of the Camino Frances with little preparation and no real expectations—just a need for time away from a stressful job. That first Camino changed everything. What started as a simple break from a busy life became a passion and a grounding element during challenging times.

Over the years, I returned again and again to Camino routes, walking routes across Spain and Portugal, as well as in France and Italy. Camino walking offered me something increasingly rare: time unplugged from emails and screens, space to breathe, and a deeper connection to the history, culture, and rhythm of daily life in the places I was visiting.

With home bases in Massachusetts and Bordeaux, France, The Caminoist brings decades of adventure travel experience to help others create their own meaningful Camino journey. I offer personalized camino guiding, planning and practical support—so you can focus less on logistics and more on the walk itself.

Whether you’re preparing for your first Camino or returning for another, my goal is simple: to help you travel with confidence and experience the Camino routes in a way that is personal – fit to your available time and needs.

Services include:

  • Personalized itinerary planning for self-guided Camino walk
  • Accommodation booking guidance and recommendations
  • Ground logistics planning and support (luggage transfers, taxi bookings, etc)
  • Camino guided walks in Spain and Portugal, tailored to your interests and timeframe

I want to help you experience the Camino in a way that feels personal. Contact us for a consultation to begin discussing your individual plans!
